CE certification of electrical/electronic devices relates to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The certifications and tests related to this are designed to ensure that electromagnetic radiation (which are really radio waves) from components do not interfere with other devices such as TV, radio, computers, medical equipment and mobile phones. Types of devices that do not radiate electromagnetic radiation, such as lead acid batteries, are not required to undergo the tests.

The EU Battery Directive (2006/66/EC) regulates the manufacturing and disposal of batteries and accumulators in the European Union to protect human health and the environment from hazardous substances such as mercury and cadmium.

The ROHS directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical Equipment) covers the same scope as the WEEE directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Batteries and accumulators do not fall into any of the ten categories listed by the WEEE directive). Therefore, Seastar range of products are outside the scope of each of these directives.

If you want to connect the batteries in parallel, please tell the sales specialist before confirming the order, up to 4 batteries can be connected in parallel

Seastar batteries can be used in series. Please let our sales manager know prior to order confirmation that up to four batteries are supported in series.

Yes. Seastar provides specific guidelines for string matching of batteries installed in series or parallel.

In general, the voltage drops with increasing discharge rate as does the capacity. The Capacity is nearly independent of discharge rate for discharge rates between C/2 and C/8, and only decreases slightly at 1C when voltage reached 10 V. Lower discharge rate will slightly increase capacity.

Lithium batteries are designed to be cycled and have excellent life even when cycled at 100% depth of discharge.

With so many different types of batteries being used in today’s world, it is important that we find ways to recycle them. Luckily for you there are now dedicated recycling companies who take care of this task!

LiFePO4 stands for Lithium Iron Phosphate, and it is a type of rechargeable lithium-ion battery that uses lithium iron phosphate as the cathode material.

This type is also referred to as the LPF type in the automotive industry.

LiFePO4 batteries primarily differ in their chemistry and safety. They are more stable and less prone to overheating or catching fire compared to other lithium-ion batteries.

Some benefits include longer lifespan, higher discharge capacity, a wider operating temperature range, and greater safety compared to other lithium-ion technologies.

LiFePO4 batteries have a higher energy density, longer lifespan, and faster charging compared to lead-acid (AGM) batteries. They are also lighter and more environmentally friendly.

LiFePO4 batteries are used in a wide range of applications, including RVs/campers, boats, solar installations, electric vehicles, electric bikes, portable power sources, marine applications, and backup power supplies.

LiFePO4 batteries are typically charged with a constant current until a certain voltage is reached, after which the current is reduced until the battery is fully charged.

LiFePO4 batteries generally require minimal maintenance beyond keeping them charged and storing them at the correct temperatures.

If left unused for an extended period, aim for a charge level of 70-80%.

LiFePO4 batteries are generally safer than other lithium-ion batteries. However, like any type of battery, dangerous situations can still arise if they are used incorrectly or damaged.

The lifespan of LiFePO4 batteries is generally LONG and among the best in the market, but it depends on several factors including operating conditions, charging and discharging cycles, and proper maintenance. Typically, they can last for several thousand charging cycles.

The built-in BMS (Battery Management System) is electronics that protect the battery and ensure the best conditions, thus extending its lifespan.

Yes, LiFePO4 batteries are considered more environmentally friendly than many other battery types due to their longer lifespan, lower toxicity, and the possibility of recycling their materials.
