Lithium-Ion Battery 12V 12Ah

Seastar battery 12V-12Ah integrates an innovative Battery Management System (BMS) in its casing to ensure a very high level of safety in use. The BMS constantly monitors and balances the battery cells to protect the battery and increase its life. The BMS also protects the battery from any misuse: deep discharge, high charging voltage, etc.

Lithium-Ion Battery 12V 12Ah Description

The Seastar Battery range has been designed to replace lead-acid batteries advantageously, by offering a quadrupted energy density for an equivalent weight and size.
Thanks to its technology, the lithium battery Seastar Battery 12V-12Ah can be installed in any position (vertically, lying on the side, or head down).

The electrical parameters of the Seastar Battery lithium battery 12V-12Ah are compatible in all respects with those of an AGM lead battery of 12V. In the vast majority of cases, the charging system can be kept the same and no additional accessories are required to perform the replacement.

Given Seastar Battery can be 100% discharged, a lead acid or AGM battery can be replaced by a Seastar Battery with half the capacity of a lead acid battery (i.e.: a Seastar Battery 50Ah can replace an AGM 100Ah battery).

The Seastar Battery Lithium battery 12V-12Ah has a nominal voltage of 12.8V. It can be easily assembled in series (up to 4 batteries in series) and in parallel (up to 15 batteries).

The battery is protected by a waterproof ABS case, splash, and dust-resistant (Protection Index IP65).

The products Seastar Battery are light, compact, efficient, and can be used for all types of uses and applications. Seastar batteries are designed to drop-in replacement of old generation batteries (Lead VRLA, AGM, or OPZ batteries) in 12V, that are low performance and harmful to the environment (use of heavy metals and acid electrolytes).

Lithium-Ion Battery 12V 12Ah FAQ

Seastar batteries use Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry (LFP) which is one of the safest Lithium-Ion technologies. This chemistry is not subject to thermal runaway, is non-flammable, and is considered as non-hazardous by international regulation standards.

Each battery is fitted with a high-quality Battery Management System (BMS) that ensures a safeguard role during battery operation. The BMS is designed to deliver high power in complete safety for a very large spectrum of applications,

Seastar batteries are commonly used for Marine, Recreational vehicles, Golf Cart applications, CCTV, robotics, PV energy storage, etc.

Seastar battery can be used for any system or application that would normally use Lead acid battery (AGM, GEL) in 12V, up to 48V. After removing your old batteries, place the Seastar battery in the same way.

Seastar batteries can be partially charged or discharged, unlike Lead Acid batteries that need to be fully charged after use or before storage.

For instance, you can leave your battery half-charged for some weeks without any issues.

If you plan to store the battery for a long period (> 2 months), you need to charge the battery at a minimum of 25% of SoC (State of Charge) before storage. It is necessary to check battery voltage every 6 months during storage.

Seastar lithium-ion technology uses the latest and most advanced built-in battery management system (BMS) to monitor and prevent damage to the battery during use.

You may utilize a Lead-acid charger with Seastar, but some customers prefer using a Lithium charger to keep a better lifespan.

Several charging sources are possible:
Alternator: Most alternators (marine, RV, cars) will efficiently charge Seastar lithium-ion technology as soon alternator charge voltage is between 14.0V and 14.8V
Conventional Lead-Acid battery charger: The Seastar Management System (BMS) is designed to be compatible with standard chargers. You need to check that the charger has a built-in CC/CV charge algorithm (Constant Current / Constant Voltage) and charger's maximum voltage is comprised between 14.0V and 14.8V
Lithium-Ion charger: This is the best way to charge a Seastar Lithium-ion battery. These chargers embed some dedicated charge algorithm with precise charge voltage. It also manages efficiently charges floating voltage and duration in order to maximize battery life span.
